Below is a collection of basic the basic history of the Azure Triskele, as it is generally accepted by the scholars of the three material planes. Naturally, there is no small amount of disagreement among the academics of the worlds as to the legitimacy of this history.
Age of Ghoros Tairai
The Age of Ghoros Tairai, “Before Times” in draconic, is a widely accepted collection of stories regarding the creation of The Azure Triskele, and what existed before it. These stories are supported by the Bearers of The Mark, and are at worst considered religious fables based on some semblance of truth.
5,000 Ghoros Tairai3: The Thirteen 13 Elder Watchers are placed on a council by the Great Brilliant Ones, and are to observe and sway the world known.
1,000 Ghoros Tairai: Twelve of The Thirteen Elder Watchers fail their post, and slay the 13th Elder Watcher in their treachery. The 13th is reborn among the mortal kind. The Twelve Treacherous Watchers are Warped and Banished Below by the Great Brilliant Ones. The reborn 13th finds the Strong Old Ones, and rises them up to name them Gods. The 13th gives the Strong Old Ones the task of watching over the realm.
500 Ghoros Tairai: The Strong Old Gods fall silent*
200 Ghoros Tairai: The five known great kingdoms are overthrown by The Unnamed Beauty. The Ancient Kings go missing.
100 Ghoros Tairai: The Ancient Kings rise-up despite 100 years of absence, and slay the The Unnamed Beauty. With Kingdoms reclaimed by giving up their crowns, the Ancient Kings grow their vast empires.
75 Ghoros Tairai: A Strong Old One dies before it’s unwavering city of the faithful. An angel looses its light.
50 Ghoros Tairai: The Ancient Kings are slain by the Unknown Youth, known for his exquisite beauty and perfect dimensions. The Unknown Youth claims to be born to the dead Unnamed Beauty.
30 Ghoros Tairai: The New Realm appears, void of any magic.
20 Ghoros Tairai: A small land mass, made of earth and little else, exists in the New Realm.
10 Ghoros Tairai: Plants, the only known life-form to the New Realm, begin to exist in the New Realm.
5 Ghoros Tairai: Draconic Beasts of great magical prowess roam the New Realm, and multitudes of lifeforms begin exist in incredible complexity. The Dragon Tree begins to prosper.
0 Ghoros Tairai The Old Realm shatters suddenly and with little warning. The Ancient Kings cross the divide into the New Realm, and ascend to Godhood. The Ancient Kings are made Guardians of the New Realm.
Age of Eorikc Ulharisk
While many cultures and planes across the scattered Azure Triskele record the passage of time in different ways and manners, Astronomers, Geomancers, and Geometers have banded together to create a standardized universal dating chart known as “Eorikc Ulharisk,” which is based on the perceived magic-cycles of the central Azure Star, known as “Ulharisk” in Draconic. Most scholars have adapted to these new numbers and dates, but overall most cultures are slow to alter their already well learned and revered calendars.
0 Eorikc Ulharisk: It is unknown in what order the races arose, it is known that Dragons or something related to current day dragons came about first. It is also generally agreed upon that Dwarves or Elves next. Dyrmin, who tend to hold looser historical records, often claim that their ancestry far outweighs that of any other kinfolk.
30 Eorikc Ulharisk: The First Elven Conflict begins, a divide between two noble houses of rival Legends. One house is driven out of the Arcadia into the depths of the ground take on a new name to spite their fair skinned cousins. The beginning of the Drow.
155 Eorikc Ulharisk: The Elven Arcadia begins to grow too deeply into Orcish hunting paths, and the Bow and Tusk War begins. This brutal and unforgiving conflict sets Orcs and Elves as lifelong enemies.
300 Eorikc Ulharisk: Human poet, Trine Deckler, publishes her famous work “Illyria.”
600 Eorikc Ulharisk: The Bow & Tusk War comes to an end. Orcs and their goblin allies are placed firmly under the foot of the Elven Arcadia. In the meantime lesser elven nations have developed, and departed from the Arcadia.
740 Eorikc Ulharisk: The Merchant’s Syndicate establishes itself as one of the best-known means of defending owners of small trade businesses from dangerous marauders and thieves.
1032 Eorikc Ulharisk: Prince Borireagh constructs an Iron City, the capital of the Hobgoblin Legions. Their superior tactics, mastery of steel, and resourcefulness makes them a formidable foe threatening to concur all of Torklynn.
1047 Eorikc Ulharisk: King Simon of Redseal unites the kinfolk under the Dragon Banner, and leads an empire against Prince Borireagh’s army. The hobgoblin Head-General, Whargtooth, takes a treasonous leave from the Iron City’s military. The Elven Arcadia remains neutral in the Iron War.
1050 Eorikc Ulharisk: The Iron City falls, and the Dragon Treaty is signed. The Kinfolk Empire is set underway. Several Nations become recognized as members of the Empire
1062 Eorikc Ulharisk: A time known as the Rise of the Syndicate. The now infamously corrupt Merchant’s Syndicate, and the several guilds it officiates and regulates, rise to a level of sociopolitical influence that outweighs that of both royalty and religion. While royalty still maintain an appearance of legal power over their land, and churches still have their religious sway, the Merchant’s Syndicate and their Assassin cronies have everyone in their pocket or against their blade.
1067 Eorikc Ulharisk: The Universal Free-Trade Company establishes itself as an unofficial guild directly opposing the Merchant’s Syndicate. Their ability to openly challenge the Merchant’s Syndicate’s control is in no small part due to their clandestine knowledge of “spelljamming,” an indirect use of natural magic-patterns and shadow currents to travel across dimensional divides without the direct use of magic, an incredibly dangerous prospect that is equally difficult to trace or predict.
1074 Eorikc Ulharisk: Mysterious islands of great treasure and curious unpredictable magic are discovered by the various nations in the Dragon Empire. These islands lay across the seas, far east of the Empire. All nations immediately lay claim on these territories, despite the presence native denizens already occupying the islands.
1175 Eorikc Ulharisk: Emperor Simon of Redseal grants the Orcish Diplomat Ghorza Taubam the status of Ambassador of the Goblin Nation, officially denying Ghorza’s request for the Goblin Nation to be a recognized Kingdom within the Empire while still granting upward movement for Neghizkera Rights.
1079 Eorikc Ulharisk: The Incarnadine Shadow War begins at sea. All nations have members vying for ownership of the islands. While technically a Civil War fought outside of the empire’s boundaries, The Incarnadine War was never officially sanctioned and thus is difficult to study.
1084 Eorikc Ulharisk: The Incarnadine Shadow War ends when the Elven Nations band together, with a Triarchy that could not be matched. The Wood Elves, Sun Elves, and Moon Elves under high crown Princess Sylphien (Moon Elves), Prince Turin (Wood Elves), and Prince Finwe (Sun Elves). The Elven Nations are recognized as the owners of the already inhabited Seas Incarnadine. They begin to colonize the islands as rapidly as they can.
1116 Eorikc Ulharisk: An opposer for the Dragon Empire crown arises, Desdemona of Bainghan. Desdemona claims to have a more direct lineage to the Human Kingdom’s Crown, and thus The Dragon Wars begin, so named for the banners of the opposing members. The Red Dragon for aging King Simon, and the Purple Dragon for young Desdemona.
1118 Eorikc Ulharisk: Tyrant Simon’s head is placed upon a pike, and Empress Desdemona sits crowned Emperor of Torklynn.
1138 Eorikc Ulharisk: Empress Desdemona of Bainghan bestows a crown and swath of land to the Orcish Ambassador, Preath Lhogir, officiating the rise of a Neghizkera Kingdom under the Dragon Empire. This land is cut from the Elven Triarchy’s Kingdom territory, partially as punishment for instigating an illegal Incarnadine Wars.
